GET OUT & TRAVEL.
Our world is becoming increasingly interconnected. Get out & broaden your perspective on life and culture.
The Hardly Home Initiative (THHI) is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2016 with an objective of making a difference through travel. It’s our belief that travel is the best education, and that through travel, students are able to gain a worldly perspective, as well as experience various cultures and witness history first-hand.
In just our first year we were able to partner with schools and organizations to provide more than 50 students with U.S. Passports. Since then we have joined the Institute of International Education (IIE) as a Generation Study Abroad Commitment Partner in order to double the number of students studying abroad by the end of the decade and pledged to sponsor 500 Passports by the end of 2020.

Are you a student looking for our Passport Scholarship Application?
Our mission is to increase the number of underrepresented students participating in study abroad programs. We are achieving this goal by offering Passport Scholarships to assist High School and College students nation-wide.
BOARD THIS PLANE.
To date, we have been able to help more than 50 students obtain their own U.S. Passport, and will expand that number to more than 500 by the end of the decade.
Past recipients of our scholarship have gone on to see how beneficial traveling is in the development of well-rounded citizens, as they have taken the opportunity to use their passports to experience different cultures, and learn life lessons which can’t be taught in a classroom.
If you are currently enrolled in High School or College and are between the ages of 16 – 20, help us help you by applying for our Passport Scholarship.
Sam Houston StateI am a first generation student in my family and I want to create a legacy for my children and their children to follow. With the help of this Initiative, I can now take my travels outside the country and see with my own eyes exactly where pictures in the history books were taken. For this opportunity, I will forever be thankful!
University of West FloridaHaving this passport will allow me to travel and experience different cultures and practices outside of what I’m familiar with. Traveling will also help to broaden my perspective on life and my ability to understand people who are not like me. With every experience that I receive I hope to utilize them in ways that benefit others.
Lonestar College Kingwood
I believe that travel will give me knowledge and experience that a textbook or class could never. Traveling will also give me a global perspective that will help me serve my community better. I will do my best to do great things all around the world given this once in a lifetime opportunity.
“Certainly, travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.” – Miriam Beard
We operate primarily through the generous donations from travelers across the globe. We welcome any and all contributions and we are grateful for your thoughtfulness in assisting these students. We do believe that together we can create positive and long-lasting change with this Initiative.
